A two-dimensional (2D) drawing has the appearance of height and width while three-dimensional (3D) drawings have the addition of depth. With just a few lines, we will draw a book that appears to have depth. Whether you draw a text book, personal journal, or classic favorite – the choice is up to you.
Start with two slightly diagonally placed parallel lines as shown on top (fig. 1). Add two slightly diagonally placed parallel lines going in the opposite direction to connect them (fig. 2).

Follow the contour of the books left and bottom edge and draw lines to form the base of the book. Close the sides of the book with slightly curved lines as shown.

Add pages and a cover thickness with lines that follow the contour of the book edges as shown.

Add a light layer of shade to the cover and side binding.

Add designs as desired that follow the contour of the cover and spine. Draw thin lines between the covers to look like individual pages. Add a shadow on the pages near binding to indicate a light source.

EXTRA TIME: ADD MORE BOOKS UNDERNEATH FOLLOWING THE SAME STEPS, WITH THE TOP BOOK OVERLAPPING THE REST.
