STEP 1-Start with a long, lean triangle as shown.
STEP 2-Use the triangle as a guide to create the candy shape: round the edges and add stripe lines.
STEP 3-Erase the parts of the guidelines that are no longer needed.
STEP 4-Add a light layer of tone to the entire candy, pressing harder on the center section to make it slightly darker.
STEP 5-Smooth tones with a blending tool. Press harder on the underside of the shape as well as the outer edges to create a soft edge, taking care to keep the tones separate from one another. Use a kneaded eraser to “draw” a white highlight line by removing pigment on the sides and bottom as shown.
