Pearls are the only jewels created by a living animal. A natural pearl of value is found in less than 1 in every 10,000 wild oysters. The ability to draw one won’t be as rare when you follow these easy steps to draw a bracelet.
Step 1: Start with an oval shape as a guide (draw lightly, as this will eventually be erased). Draw circles on top of the oval, overlapping on the sides as shown.

Step 2: Erase original oval. Erase parts of overlapping circles so it appears as if the circles closest to the bottom of the page are in front. Add a small hook/latch if desired.

Step 3: Add a light layer of tone inside all of the small circles.

Step 4: Add a “C” shape inside each circle using a slightly darker tone than the one used in step 3. Notice the direction of the “C” in each circle.

Step 5: Blend tones to smooth them. Use kneaded eraser to add a highlight inside the “C” shape. Add a medium tone under the “C” shape to transition the tones gently.

Extra time: Add a light cast shadow from each circle using the pencil at an angle. Make sure the shadow is beneath the circles except for the side circles. Notice the placement of the shadow cast by the circles on the sides.
