This beloved critter has the features of some of the most popular stuffies out there: Big, glossy eyes, a large head and an interesting pattern. Try your hand at drawing this cute stuffed toy following these simple steps.
Step 1: Start with a large round shape with a slightly smaller round shape below it. Overlap as shown. Draw an oval nose inside the larger round shape.
Step 2: Add 1/2 circle ear shapes, circle eyes with a larger circle around them, curved lines for arm and leg shapes.
Step 3: Draw circles for eye details and curves for inner ear details. Add wavy lines and curves for hands and feet.
Step 4: Erase original guides no longer needed where the arms should cover. Fill in dark areas with a layer of tone inside ears, eyes, on nose and hands/feet. Make sure to leave the untouched highlight in the eye.
Step 5: Fill in the remainder of the koala with a light layer of tone. Use a zig zag motion around the edges for a furry texture. Add lines radiating from pupil and add the lightest tone to the tummy area.
Extra time: Make areas where ears and arms meet the body slightly darker (on the seams). Erase spots on nose for highlights. Add a light shadow under the body.
