The sundae is an ice cream dessert that consists of scoops of ice cream topped with syrup, sprinkles, whipped cream, cherries, or other sweet toppings. Get creative and add other delicious delights to make this sundae yours!
Step 1: Start with large oval at top. Follow the contour of that oval to create a curve under it as shown. Draw a smaller oval below that. Pay attention to the distance between each line/shape. Take about 30 seconds.

Step 2: Draw a 1/2 circle coming from the top oval. Draw lines coming down from each edge of the oval that connect to the curve beneath it. Draw a triangle shape coming from the bottom oval. Add a curve following the contour of the oval edge connecting the base of the triangle.

Step 3: Connect top and bottom shapes with lines that curve inward to create the sundae cup. Add 2 parallel lines at top to start the straw. Add curves at top, sides, and base as desired to start the whipped cream. Take 30 seconds or so.

Step 4: Add oval at straw top with curves on it to create a striped pattern. Draw 1/2 circle with stem in whipped cream for a cherry. Draw pattern on sundae cup.

Step 5: Take 30 seconds to add layer of tone to cherry, straw, and cup.

Step 6: Blend tones, then add depth to whipped cream with shade as shown. Deepen tones on cup.

Step 7: Blend tones further to create more contrast. Use kneaded eraser to lighten areas of shine or highlight (see straw).

Extra time: Erase edges to make lines crisper. Add more highlight and deepen shadow for contrast on cream and cup. Add a 3D lip to cup edge. Smooth with blending tools, following the direction of the shade and line for desired effect.
