WORDS TO LEARN
negative space: the empty space around the objects, usually the background.
positive space: the main focus of the picture, the overall subject.
Ghosting is a way of looking at a figure as a whole shape.
Begin with a very light shade of pencil. Draw trapezoids for the torso, a circle for the head, and lines for the legs and arms. Thicken the lines for the upper arms and legs, then use slightly thinner shapes for the lower limbs. Think of the figure as positive space and the area around it as negative space.

Once you’ve finished the “ghost,” you should have a shadow figure. Now you can add shapes or line art to build up the form.
Try it out
1-Start by drawing the chest and hips of your ghost with a light shade.Next, make the pose of the arms with simple lines and a basic outline for the dress.

2-Fill out the figure, adding muscle and clothing. Remember the positive space in the gaps!

3-With a darker color, draw the main lines of the figure. Start defining the face and muscle in places such as the shoulders and legs.

4-Add detail, such as major folds in clothing and their portrait, or likeness.

5-Now have fun!I gave my figure a floral dress, a tattoo, and jewelry.
