1- Start by drawing a series of geometric shapes as shown, Placing them off center and at an angle adds interest.
Squares are used above, however, any single shape can be used successfully.

2- Draw lines through the corner points of each shape so an “X” is made in the smallest, center shape.
If the lines don’t fall exactly on the corner points, that’s OK Just get it close.

3-Add two or three geometric shapes inside of the main design as seen below
Notice the square, circle and triangle added on top of the existing design. Overlap these smaller shapes as desired

4-Choose an area near the center of the design and start filling in every other block with a solid color.
No two blocks of color should touch if possible.

5- Continue filling in every other closed-in area using a checkerboard pattern. Pay close attention to which areas are being filled.

6- The final artwork will appear as an intricate geometric design that shows illusory motion.
